Bauska Castle was originally built in the 1400s on a narrow peninsula where the Mūsa and Mēmele rivers converge. The ruins of the old castle still stand alongside this newer building called the Bauska Palace. This fortified manor house was built in the 1500s and seems to be mainly intact.
